Slide 3:
The five common collocations you will learn in this lesson are . . .

  • sick and tired (unable to endure something anymore)
  • take advice
  • all along (from the beginning)
  • has a problem
  • do the housework (laundry/dishes/vacuuming/ironing etc.)

Slide 4:
She was sick and tired of coming home and finding dirty dishes in the sink.

Slide 5:
She was sick and tired of always having to wait for her friend.

Slide 6:
“If you take my advice, you’ll find another job!”

Slide 7:
With an angry voice he said: “Please, I don’t need to take advice from you!”

Slide 8:
Colonel Tom Parker knew all along that Elvis Presley was going to be a huge success, and he managed to maneuver himself into becoming his manager.
