We will consider 5 common English collocations in use:

honestly believe
take someone/something’s place

to cause someone to feel deep sadness

Slide 6:

Sentence: It broke his heart when his dear wife of 41 years passed away.

Slide 7:
In the picture we see a young woman holding her head, very upset.

Sentence: Her boyfriend broke her heart when he decided to end the relationship.

Sentence: In an interview with Sunday Night TV, Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees, expressed his deep regret that when each of his brothers died, it was at a moment when they were not getting on.

Sentence: After Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts died in 2021, it was announced that session drummer Steve Jordan would take his place.

Sentence: On May 26, 2010, Microsoft dropped to the 2nd position when Apple took its place as the world’s most valuable technology company.
