STATEMENT

Definition: a definite, clear declaration of something, either in speech or writing

Verb: “to state”

Slide 5:
The picture shows President Richard Nixon with President Nguyen Van Thieu in 1969 during the time of the Vietnam War.

Sentence example: This photograph from the National Archives, shows the President of the United States and the President of Vietnam making a joint statement regarding their goals and objectives.

Definition: to place or arrange things in a straight line

Verb “to align”

Compliment can be used as a noun or a verb

Definition: a feeling of displeasure or indignation at someone for something they have said or done which has caused offence

Verb: “to resent”
